C-CAP logoAfter a week of counting, the final number is in! Our C-CAP (Careers through Culinary Arts Program) fundraising event at the International Home + Housewares Show brought in over $25,000 for the program. We co-sponsored the party with Harold Import Company, one of C-CAP’s main sponsors. We were treated to food prepared by C-CAP students (and inspired by Guy Fieri’s famous recipes), music by The Joe Moss Band and DJ CHEF Marc Weiss and wines provided by St. Francis Winery & Vineyards. The whole event was a blast.
As foodies and knife guys, we love C-CAP’s mission. The program works with public schools across the country to prepare underserved high school students for college and career opportunities in the restaurant and hospitality industries. As a national nonprofit, it manages the largest independent high school culinary scholarship program in the U.S. In fact, since 1990, C-CAP has awarded students over $28 million in scholarships and has donated $2.3 million worth of supplies and equipment to culinary classrooms. C-CAP currently operates in New York; Los Angeles; Chicago; Philadelphia; Hampton Roads, VA; Washington, DC and Arizona. Head over to the C-CAP website (www.ccapinc.org) to see how you can get involved.
